Wealthfront is looking for an experienced financial writer and editor to launch and grow a new content vertical as part of the Consumer Communications Team at Wealthfront. The goal of this new vertical is to empower young professionals to make informed financial decisions by developing timely, unique content that connects the prevailing macroeconomic news with their personal finance goals.

This role will oversee the creation of engaging, sharable content across a variety of formats and channels. This will include ideating and creating a mixture of short and long-form content in both written and video formats, and bringing this content to life on Wealthfronts social media channels, emails, and blog. To support this strategy, this role will build and manage a team of experienced content creators, and will work closely with multiple teams across the company including Social Media, Editorial, Investment Research, Product Marketing, Compliance, and more.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced financial journalist and editor who wants to build a new content vertical and team from the ground up. Through this new content strategy, this role will help Wealthfronts target audience expand their financial knowledge and deepen their relationship with our products.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor market and macroeconomic news daily and generate high-quality, timely content ideas that help young professionals navigate market trends and build their financial confidence.
• Build and manage a team of freelancers to bring these ideas to life across different platforms (social media, short and long-form video, email, etc.), with a focus on developing unique content that delivers value to Wealthfronts audience.
• Partner with Product Marketing, Lifecycle and Social Media teams to distribute content to clients and prospects across our channels.
• Evaluate new content formats and distribution channels and make recommendations on which to pursue.
• Partner with internal teams to measure the impact of your content and develop strategies to improve outcomes.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years experience writing and editing timely and engaging financial market and macroeconomic stories at a top-tier news outlet.
• Demonstrated experience writing and editing a variety of timely financial content, from newsletters to video scripts, and more.
• Proven track record of building and managing a team of writers/content creators to produce high quality, engaging content.
• Highly knowledgeable about investing and personal finance strategies, macroeconomic data, and how overarching financial trends impact young professionals.
• Creative story teller with expertise in translating financial news and data into unique, digestible content.
• Experience managing video content production is preferred, but not required.
• Bachelors degree required.

This will be a 6-month, full-time temporary role, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent position at the end of the 6-month period. Estimated annual salary range: $185,000 - $215,000 USD. This position is not eligible to receive equity or bonus compensation.
