Brief Description Conveyor Belt Mechanic The Conveyor Belt Mechanic is responsible for placing the upmost importance on working safely and always maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others.
Responsibilities: - Effectively maintain plant equipment, primarily related to manufacturing conveyor belt/system
- Learning to balance other distribution center equipment at the FreshDirect Campus
- Execute the plant preventive maintenance program
- Proficient with conveyor system machinery to support the maintenance team and/or train others as needed
- Strong working knowledge of all facets of electrical controls and procedures
Education And Qualifications - 4-6 Years of experience as conveyor belt and/or system mechanic/technician required
- Technical education related to mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration is required
- Safely operates various shop related equipment
- Lay out and construct additional electrical circuits or deleted circuits. Update any changes to electrical schematics
- Diagnosis electrical problems using various meters and related equipment
- Mechanical experience with varied kitchen and distribution center machinery
- Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
- Working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits
- OSHA safety certification is a PLUS
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- In a work day: standing/walking 8-12 hours
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
Constant exposure to temperatures: <-10 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators)
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Schedule: Monday to Sunday, with 24 hour coverage .
