Provides in-home intervention to children and their families utilizing a skill based, solution focused model to help families adopt positive solutions to problems through the teaching of skills and behavioral techniques accessing community resources and support. Major responsibilities include providing safe and effective services, adhering to safety policies, attending safety and abuse risk management training, managing high-risk activities, reporting suspicious behaviors, and following mandated abuse reporting requirements. Provides intervention services for IHFS including developing relationships with families and community resources, screening and assessment for program eligibility, training and support in functional skills, assessing problems and monitoring progress, outreach and prevention services, crisis intervention availability, training consumers in behavior management, promoting family self-determination, educating on health needs, supporting spiritual beliefs, and promoting professionalism. Administrative duties include preparing reports, documenting service plans, reporting incidents, implementing supervisor feedback, ensuring compliance with standards, and notifying supervisor of professional status changes. May be trained as a Common Sense Parenting Instructor and conduct courses. Requires knowledge of public assistance and social services, regulatory requirements, community resources, communication skills, computer skills, and Boys Town model. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field (with some state-specific alternatives), minimum 1 year experience with children and families, valid driver's license, ability to provide transportation, availability for crisis response and non-traditional hours, possible bilingual skills, and certification/licensure as required. Preferred qualifications include experience in community-based or Boys Town programs. Physical requirements include strength and endurance for stressful situations, working in various environments including homes with substandard conditions.
