The Health Plan Chief Medical Officer CMO will be responsible for providingclinical and management oversight for utilization, quality, pharmacy and credentialing functions in a manner that ensures the delivery of quality, cost effective healthcare, supports organization objectives, and meets contractual and regulatory requirements.
The Health Plan Chief Medical Officer CMO will achieve the Triple Aim, i.e., applying integrated approaches to simultaneously improve care, improve population health, and reduce costs per capita. The Chief Medical Executive CME will implement medical policies, disease and care management, quality assurance and improvement, and appeals and grievances policies with medical service and delivery systems to ensure the best quality care.
Collaborating with other Executives, the Chief Medical Officer CMO will lead quality improvement development, motivation of leadership in medical staff and ability to conduct meetings effectively. The Chief Medical Officer CMO will be developing data tools to evaluate clinical outcomes so understanding of Healthcare Information Technology is required.
The Health Plan Chief Medical Executive CME will be responsible to design effective clinical protocols to decrease inappropriate utilization and enhance quality outcomes with current knowledge of hospital clinical quality, benchmarking, and best practices. The Chief Medical Officer CMO will manage strategic planning, budgeting, management and goal setting with familiarity with credentialing, bylaws, rules, and regulations, and accreditation standards.
The ideal Chief Medical Officer CMO candidate should have graduated of an accredited medical school with Doctorate degree in Medicine. Primary care specialty with board certification recognized by ABMS required. Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California, issued by the State Board of Medical Examiners, which meets the Health Plans credentialing and re-credentialing requirements.
