Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Duties include prepping & performing phlebotomy on children up to elderly patients, preparing samples for pickup, maintaining appropriate supplies inventory, and charting blood draws. PRN staff are not guaranteed specific number of hours and help cover PTO, leaves of absence, and staffing shortages. Must be available to train full-time if little to no phlebotomy experience. Looking for self-motivated, positive, energetic person with strong work ethic and great time management. Must take pride in caring for patients and being on time, on task, positive, professional and productive. Qualifications include high school diploma or GED preferred, completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
