Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Senior Assembler to join the Manufacturing/ Production team.
Responsibilities will include:
Work from wire diagrams and engineering drawings (blueprints), sketches, and other written or oral instruction to make initial layouts and accurately assemble products.
Use hand and/or power tools as necessary to complete requires assemblies.
Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
Understand sophisticated electrical and mechanical assembly operations concepts and how they can be applied to resolve complex issues and meet the company objectives.
Understand ESD principles and safeguarding.
Proper use of hand tools such as torque wrenches , wire cutters, strippers & crimpers .
Identify tasks to resolve independently.
Be involved in process improvement and development.
Operate and use fork trucks, automotive lifts, ladders, lifting platforms, and cranes.
Compensation Range: $22.93-$27.50/hour
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Associate’s degree, technical/business school, or equivalent; may vary by functional area.
7+ years of relevant experience.
Ability to read and understand work instructions and assembly drawings.
Technical product trouble shooting skills.
General electronic soldering skills and inspection requirements .
Ability to work with a range of different sized materials: small intricate parts to larger heavy parts.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience working on manufacturing flow lines with multiple team members
Background in automotive mechanics or similar
Comfortable operating automated equipment, understanding of mechanical assembly and process flow. Experience may include advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of tools, software and other technologies.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb stairs to elevated tower platforms.
Stand and walk for long periods of time.
Working outdoors as necessary.
